I go to Gawker proper. I just get angry or sad. They’re very hateful and closed minded.

I for a long time had Gawker as one of my RSS feeds, along with assorted car, tech, food and sneaker blogs. I’m a pretty liberal guy and their political slant can and often does line up with my own. But I got totally overwhelmed with keeping up with all my feeds, and Gawker kept getting progressively more irritating to read, so it was one of the first feeds I ditched. Now I have “only” 15 feeds I try to keep on top of.

I’m pretty moderate and try to get opinions from all sides. They, Gawker, and their regular commentariat seem to becoming more and more of a left Fox News, ignoring facts to the contrary and personally attacking anyone that doesn’t agree with them instead of engaging in debate.

I for the most part don’t have the energy to “engage in debate” about politics in general, and particularly in internet comment sections. I pay attention to the news, I have opinions about things, which if people ask me about them I might share. I briefly flirted with majoring in political science in college until I realized that while I keep informed, dealing with everyone’s opinions is exhausting.
